Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and PulseOS LLC ("we", "us"), the operator of Obsidian — becomeobsidian.com and the Obsidian iOS app (together, the "Service"). By applying for membership or using the Service, you agree to them.

1. What Obsidian is

Obsidian is a private, invite-only brotherhood: a membership community for men built around daily accountability, pods, seasons, and personal transformation. Membership is granted by application. There is no public sign-up, and we may accept or decline applications at our discretion.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You must be 18 or older.
• The information in your application and profile must be truthful.
• You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. Your account is personal — don't share it or transfer it.

3. Membership and payment

Membership terms, including any dues, are agreed directly between you and us when you join, and are handled outside the website and the app. The iOS app contains no purchases or subscriptions — it is a free companion to an existing membership.

4. The brotherhood standard (acceptable use)

Obsidian works because men hold a standard. When you use the Service you agree not to:

• harass, demean, bully, or threaten another member;
• post content that is unlawful, hateful, discriminatory, violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable;
• share another member's private information or content outside the brotherhood without his consent;
• impersonate anyone, misrepresent your progress, or use the Service to spam or promote unrelated businesses;
• attempt to break, probe, scrape, or overload the Service, or access it by any means other than the interfaces we provide.

5. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior in Obsidian. We review reports of objectionable content or abusive users and act within 24 hours — by removing the content and, where warranted, suspending or permanently expelling the member responsible. We may also remove any content or restrict any account at any time to protect the community, with or without a report.

6. Reporting and blocking

To report content or a member, email support@becomeobsidian.com (or use any in-product reporting the Service provides). Reports are reviewed within 24 hours as described above. If you need distance from a member while we review, tell us and we will separate your experiences (pods, pairings, and visibility) while the report is handled.

7. Your content

You own what you create — check-ins, reflections, journal entries, photos, letters, and posts. You grant PulseOS LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content as needed to operate and improve the Service (for example, showing your check-in to your pod). Parts of the Service are shared spaces by design; what you post there is visible to other members. We will not use your content in public marketing without your permission. This license ends when your content is deleted, except for residual backup copies that age out.

8. Our property

The Service — its software, design, brand, and content we created — belongs to PulseOS LLC and its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app and website as a member. Don't copy, resell, or build derivative services from it.

9. Not professional advice

Obsidian is a community for personal development. It is not medical care, mental-health treatment, therapy, or financial advice, and nothing in the Service is a substitute for professional help. If you are in crisis, contact a professional or emergency services immediately.

10. Ending membership

You may leave at any time by contacting support@becomeobsidian.com, and you may request deletion of your account and personal data (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end memberships that violate these terms or harm the community.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PulseOS LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

13. Apple App Store terms (iOS app only)

If you use the Obsidian iOS app, the following also applies:

• These terms are between you and PulseOS LLC, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• Your license to the app is limited to use on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
• If the app fails to conform to a warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (the app is free, so there is nothing to refund); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app — including product liability, regulatory compliance, or consumer-protection claims — or for third-party claims that the app infringes intellectual-property rights.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington.

15. Changes

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. We'll update the date above and announce material changes to members. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
